What i think of the final product:
I Like how my podcast turned out. i believe that the two episodes that i produced are well made for my situation and experience with audio software and production. The herobrine episode was virtually exactly what i wanted to produce. A bitesize minecraft info podcast. The episodes could be 10 - 30 minutes with guests and over production but as i said i wanted it to be bitesize and personal.
What I Did Well?
Produce an accurate piece of work on the subject that i wanted to do.
The icon i developed is clean and i really like how it turned out since it was my first idea i came up with.
i explained things well so people who aren't knowedgeable can be if they wanted to be, but if they have a slight understanding they will also enjoy the content.
What could i have done better?
Theres definetly a problem with my breathing and general background noise although i didn't know how to get rid of this in the software and i was using a popfilter.
i could have used music more effectively to match with what im talking about. although this is kind of done in the herobrine episode.
I Could have utilised segments which would make the episodes longer and make it even more professional and organised.
Need to be more confident speaking to a camera or an audience
For the podcast i produced a Logo for the profile / episodes. i think the icon itself is quite good. its simple, appealing and quite clickable so i think it's quite sufficiant for the product. I Did try to apply noise filters and other quality changes to my voice audio track but i couldn't get it sounding nice so i definetly needed to put more input and testing in to make it sound that bit better.
Also the scripting itself couldve been improved a lot but at the time i though it was quite decent but i was quite impatient with the process so if i put a full 100% of effort in i could have made my perfect vision.
I believe my target audience is quite accurate to what i predicted although i feel like i slightly presented the podcast towards a slightly less knowledgeable audience since i speak like they may not know the game itself. But i do think it can be enjoyed by both groups, the people who don't know the game very well but also the people who do.
If i was to make my podcast a paid subscription i would do several things. I would make the episodes longer, maybe around 30 minutes so it's worth their money, also i would spend a lot more time developing the script and potentially move towards multi-topic episodes. i would probably make the podcast weekly or bi-weekly depending on how much time i have. Another thing i would do to move the podcast into a premium podcast would be adding people to the production whether its as a guest or another host.
I could use a podcast to present my ideas and information for media projects in a way which lets myself have a better understanding after hearing it in this setting but also to someone who may need to hear them as well.
But i could also use a podcast and format it so it explains one of my projects in detail. having specific episodes on introduction, ideas, research, planning, production and possibly even the evaluation itself i could turn into an episode if i saw it neccisary. On the other hand i could create a podcast to be in the background of a bigger project as an easter egg or for general use.
A Podcast could also be used to help my online presence / career. Podcasts can get really big so it can be my breakthrough if i put effort into it or it could be extra content on the side of the other things i do on youtube / twitch for the people who want more. Additionally i could use it to promote a project i made and talk about how i made it, what it was like making it and have episodes which are big promotional peices for whatever i make.
For example if i make a mystery video i could then make a podcast which includes missing bits of information or extra snips which werent included in the final edit.
You can make a podcast about anything and atleast one person will listen so its an interesting field to get into. i may have to explore it deeper in the future.
